EMAIL DELIVERABILITY ISSUES

Our mailservers are experiencing deliverability issues following a clients email account being compromised through an insecure password. We have been working with our technical support company to address these issues.

Although most services have returned to normal, there is an ongoing issue delivering mail to Microsoft email services including Hotmail, Live.com, Outlook .com and some other domains that run on Microsoft products eg 365.

There is a simple fix to overcome problems experienced with sending email from your domain. This is a change in your email program to change your outgoing server settings from mail.yourdomain.com (e.g. mail.gympiewebsites.com.au to mail.your-ISP-mailserver.com (e.g. mail.bigpond.com or mail.tpg.com.au).

NOTE: there is a newer version of Outlook that is different top these instructions – you will need to go to Windows Control Panel and open the Mail applet (let me know if you are in this situation).

EMAIL SERVICE POLICY CHANGE

All Cooloolabusiness.com clients will be informed that outgoing mail services will be ceasing. Clients will be required to use their ISP mail servers for sending email from hosted domain email accounts from 1/4/19.

CONCLUSION

It is not possible for a small hosting company to provide and guarantee email services when these services can be easily compromised by weak passwords or just clicking links in scam emails received.

It is unfortunate that this decisions has had to be taken. In the end, it is a simple change but necessary to protect the integrity of our servers and the client sites we develop, host and manage.
