10,000 Steps to Good Health and Fitness

Everyone wants their health to be very good but not everyone has enough time to get in proper work outs and make sure this is possible. This is the reason that health professionals are pushing people to adopt the ten thousand step method. The ten thousand step approach is based on the idea that walking ten thousand steps every day can help you get healthy-that it helps cut down on the amount of time you have to spend at the gym. Walking is fantastic physical exercise and really low impact. How often have you heard a physician say “just a single stroll around the block improves your health”?

Obviously walking ten thousand steps every single day won’t be easy. That’s a lot of steps to take! The best part is that you almost certainly already take most of those steps each day already and don’t know it yet. What you might want to do is figure out how to include one or two more thousand steps to get to the goal. So how do you do that without resorting to simply strolling back and forth all day?

Increasing your step count can be done easily using these obvious methods. Use the stairs instead of the elevator–that’s rather simple. When you go to the store or the mall park further away from the front door. Keep your car in one spot and walk your bags and boxes out to the car as soon as you finish shopping in each store rather than just carrying more and more things with you as you run your errands and go shopping. Using public travel is excellent for increasing your step count since you have to walk to the bus stop and back instead of just to and from the car. And, obviously, getting a quick walk every single day is a great way to increase your step count.

Some less clear ways to raise your step count are also available. Write the grocery grocery list in a different arrangement. Lots of people arrange their lists according to the aisles of their stores. Organize your own list in different types such as dairy, meat, produce, snacks, etc. Then get each item in the order that it is listed on your list. You could find yourself criss crossing the store several times but it’s a fantastic way to raise your step count. Instead of getting a mail box as part of your door or attached to the house, mount it on a post near to the curb. This may put at least one or two dozen steps to your count when you check the mail everyday.

Increasing your step count can be done in lots of ways. The more familiar with thinking about 10,000 steps you get the easier it’s going to be for you to figure out how to meet your goal. The greatest thing about this idea is that every single step you take throughout the day counts toward your goal whether they are on treadmills or to the bathroom and back. Have fun with it!
